That’s a tough one. I’d like to think I rock the name Mickey better than anyone else. I’m not that cool though.
I was lucky to be swimming,
Ten thousand leagues under her’s,
We had plans to burn this city down,
With our hope and strong words,
On this high we’re souring over the clouds,
There’s nothing that can shoot us down,
But I blinked my eyes,
and you were gone,
You can’t tell me that it’s over,
Believers will never believe that
You crossed the finish line,
Before I saw the starting line,
I’m still hoping,
Wishing for something,
We had the world then lost it all,
With no time to brace the fall,
I’ll keep praying,
That next time you’re staying,
I’ll swallow my pride and kiss the clock,
But will that clock ever become your lips,
I find myself staring at the stars,
Waiting for them to fall so I can wish,
I wont give up,
until my heart beat stops,
I’ll run through walls until my body drops,
You crossed the finish line,
Before I saw the starting line,
I’m still hoping,
Wishing for something,
We had the world then lost it all,
With no time to brace the fall,
I’ll keep praying,
That next time you’re staying,
I never understood those songs they played on the radio until I met you,
I never understood those songs they played on the radio until I met you,
I never understood those songs they played on the radio until I met you,
I never understood those songs they played on the radio until I met you,
You crossed the finish line,
Before I saw the starting line,
I’m still hoping,
Wishing for something,
We had the world then lost it all,
With no time to brace the fall,
I’ll keep praying,
That next time you’re staying,
Nah. I LQTM but I didn’t LOL.
Absolutely. I think Warped is better than Bamboozle this year. I am definitely gonna go to Camden NJ this year. There are so many bands I want to see; Four Year Strong, Set Your Goals, The Rocket Summer, The Swellers, Hey Monday, Mayday Parade, Never Shout Never, We Are The In Crowd, Sum 41, Motion City Soundtrack, Streetlight Manifesto, Reel Big Fish, The Cab, The Summer Set, This Time Next Year, We The Kings, Artist vs Poet, and some more too!
It’s trendy! Like A Toyota Prius or saying the word “fail.” I need to do some trends. I have one of these instead of wearing animal bracelets. :D
I’m not too picky. I’ve had a weakness for blonde girls for like as long as I can remember. Haha. But I honestly I’m into girls I connect with. :) Someone I can talk to and have fun being with.
I’d say it is worse waking up in the morning and not feeling like P Diddy. That is a nice feeling. You know you’re in for a good day when you wake up in the morning feeling like P Diddy. You know you’re in for in an even better day when you wake up in the morning feeling like Chris Weaver. Those days you brush your teeth with a bottle of jager.
Hey guys! It’s been awhile but HTH finally got back to practice today :) We ran through our previously recorded songs and starting on new stuff. We brought the rest of the band into one of the songs I’ve been working on and we started on an acoustic song for a special performance we’re gonna be doing. That’s a secret for right now though ;) Everything is sounding amazing! Hang on just a little longer. We’ll be playing shows before you know it.
Less Than Three
Mickey and Home Town Heroes
Well one day Pat, Tom, and I were just playing basketball talking about wanting to start something new. We all started thinking of hypothetical band names. After dozens of joke names I just said Home Town Heroes and the guys loved it. A few days later, we started jamming together and decided to keep the name and become a “real band.” In a way, the name has kind of become an oxymoron. Being “hometown heroes” was the last thing on our minds when we started the band. We started the band to make music we love and that was the sole reason. Of course we want other people to like our music and be able to relate to it, but as long as we were making music we loved, we were going to continue playing together.
Four Year Strong is so rad! I want to see them live so bad!
Personally I absolutely love the new Four Year album. They didn’t make any drastic changes from the last record. It sounds like Rise Or Die Trying but with better production. A lot of the songs on the record have an epic sound to them. Like the choruses, riffs, and breakdowns are all huge. Everything is really catchy too, which I love. I find my self singing it everyday. I love this record and I love Four Year Strong. I’m so stoked to see them on Warped Tour this summer!
What bands have you been cranking lately?
Let’s see. The 10 I’ve been listening to most are Four Year Strong, Jack’s Mannequin, Angels & Airwaves, New Found Glory, Freshman 15, Blink-182, Mayday Parade, Go Radio, The Starting Line, and The Rocket Summer.
This show completely solidified in my mind that Andrew McMahon is one of the most talented musicians in music today. But let’s start from the beginning of the show. First off, the venue was absolutely unreal. So big, great sound quality, great drew, and some rad lights. The Electric Factory has to be one of my favorite venues. The first band to go on was Vedera. I’m not really sure how to describe their genre. They were kind of like pop-punk, but very mellow and a lot of effects like delay. Instrumentally they were okay. The drummer seemed like he played the same thing on every song and had no impressive fills, beats, or anything. The shining part of Vedera is their lead singer. This girl had an amazing voice. To me, it sounded very similar to Cassadee Pope of Hey Monday, just higher. She also played rhythm guitar on some songs, and piano on others. They had some catchy songs. Though they didn’t have much energy they put on a decent performance. The second band to play was fun. I’ve been really into this band for a few months now and their live performance was incredible. They are so unique and they had an amazing amount of energy on stage. All of the members that sang, also sounded just as good live as they do on the record. Finally, Jack’s Mannequin played. This was my second time seeing these guys and they are absolutely amazing live. The have tons of energy and made a great set list. They played for about an hour. An extra half hour longer than the first two bands. They played a good mix of songs from “The Glass Passenger” and “Everything In Transit.” Andrew McMahon is an amazing performer, writer, and musician. He sang, played piano, and played harmonica. The band’s performance left me with chills and left me speechless. During the encore, Andrew crowd surfed from the stage, to the back bar of the venue, back to the stage. It was absolutely amazing. Jack’s Mannequin is a band everyone should go see live!
Set List: Holiday From Real, The Mixed tape, Crashin’, Spinning, Kill The Messenger, The Resolution, Hammers and Strings, Bloodshot, I’m Ready, Bruised, New Year’s Day (U2 cover), Miss California, Dark Blue, MFEO.
Encore: Swim, La La Lie.
What’s your dream car?
Bumblebee from Transformers. Hahaha. The new Camaro is so nice. Plus, I want a car that turns into a robot!
If you had your own talk show, who would your first three guests be?
Mark, Tom, and Travis of Blink-182! I’ve wanted to talk to all three of them since I was about 10. They’re the reason I got into music. I’d kill to meet them!!!
